Melodic Purpose

Skip this page if the score is a rhythm/poem.

The Melodic Purpose is divided in two sections. Use the first drop down menu to indicate the melodic purpose of the piece.

  • Prepare - the song is selected to prepare a new solfège to teach.

  • Present - the song is selected to make conscious/name the new solfège.

  • Practise - the song is for revision/use of the now known solfège.

Select the Purpose then tap on 'Done'.

Use the second drop down to indicate the solfège for the Melodic Purpose. Tap on 'Done' once you've made your selection.

The four Melodic Motifs are to indicate examples of the  Melodic Purposes in the piece of music. You do not have to use all four Melodic Motifs.

Type in the motifs that use the Melodic Purpose you have listed above. In this example it is 'Do'. If there is an existing entry in the motif then tap on it.

The PDF will show each Melodic Motif separated with a comma.

User Suggestion - Enter the solfège in one beat groupings, followed by a space. If your rhythm is ♩ ♫ and the pitch is drm, then add a space between the solfège to indicate the next beat - eg. d rm
No matter what you do, be consistent with your format.
