Tone Set
Consistency is important. All your entries will need to start from lowest to highest or the opposite. Do not mix the formats.
It is best to use a dash ‘-‘ for omitted notes in the scale. For example, if the song is pentatonic, use a dash for the missing ‘fa’.
Eg. drm-sl
There is a separate entry for the finalis (last note). Some users may want to indicate the finalis with a capital letter. Eg. Drm-sl. Remember to be consistent.
The example, 'Pease Porridge Hot', is a do-re-mi song.
Remember:
-

-
Lowest to highest or highest to lowest
-
Eg. drm s l or ls mrd
-
-

-

Range
Use the down arrow to scroll through to the range of the song, the interval from the lowest to highest pitch in the song. This is located at the bottom of the screen. If the range is larger than a perfect 11th then select the <P11.
Comfortable Starting Pitch (C.S.P.)
Use the down arrow to select the comfortable starting pitch for the song. Some pieces of music are written in keys too high or low for some voices. The C.S.P. is your reminder of what starting note will suit your singers. This is especially good for folk songs.
Tap the right arrow to proceed to the next pitch analysis of the song.
